Description from the packaging.

How a good game is defined

challenging (adj): an enjoyable task suitable to one's intelligence and skill. (see Combat Chess).

playable (adj): an easily performed recreational activity (see Combat Chess).

The search is over for a computer combat gate you can get into easily and enjoy playing. In the tradition of The Avalon Hill Game Company's boardgames, Combat Chess places two players, or the solitaire gamer at the head of an army of tanks and armored cars in a fast-moving game that requires a lot of skill and a little luck to win.

Each game of Combat Chess will be different, because the players choose the rules! You select the playing field- consisting of natural or abstract terrain- from a library of ten boards. You select how much the units can move each turn, and when and how they fire. Destroy your opponent's Battle Cruiser and you win. Each game promises to be a challenging puzzle with the subtle tactics of chess.

Because the rules are so simple, more attention has been devoted to making the computer a very intelligent opponent. Holding out under its attacks is an intriguing tactical problem in itself!

Combat Chess (noun): an easy-to-learn game that is as engrossing as chess itself.
